Challenges and Some Results for The MAS-net Project

This article summarizes the challenges and some of our preliminary results for our MAS-net (Mobile ActuatorSensor Networks) project. Combining robotics and sensor network technologies, the MAS-net system is designed as a test bed for diffusion system estimation and control. The long-term goal of this research is to estimate and eliminate dangerous plumes, such as air/water pollutions, terrorism attacks, in real-time by mobile actuator-sensor networks. The hardware and software platforms of the project are introduced and some results for fog estimation are included. In addition, the theoretical challenges are explained and preliminary solutions are described in brief.
